NTP Server on Call Manager publisher mode is inaccessible / NTP unsynchronised in cucm

CUCM Doesn't support windows ntp servers, also you shouldn't use a public ntp server that you can't control it. It does support linux or IOS ntp server.

Sometimes, when you install IM and Presence you  define the cucm publisher node ip address, and gives you this error message:

when you open cucm you will see that the ntp servers are accessible but unsynchronised, as shown in the following picture

Solution:

Use an internal router to be ntp server, the configuration of the router is very easy -it's one command.

R(config)#ntp master 1

Add the ntp server ip address which is your router ip address to your cucm, using the following command

admin:util ntp server add 192.168.1.20

make sure that the ntp service is started and running using the following command

admin:util ntp status

If it's stopped, u can start it using the following command

admin:util ntp start
