How to change the default domain on IM and Presence / wrong IM address displayed

This article will demonstrate how to change the default domain in IM & Presence Server. The following information illustrate my environment:

     Call Manager (CUCM) ip address:192.168.1.22

     IM & Presence ip address:192.168.1.24

     DNS Server Domain:example.com

As you see in the picture below, the domain is being displayed wrong – displayed as gcc.local although our domain is example.com.

In Cisco Unified CM IM & Presence Administration, navigate to Presense>>Settings>>Advanced Configuration, to see the current default domain

To Change the default domain:

1- You must first stop the following services using the following commands or using IM & Presence Serviceability web interface.

   utils service stop Cisco Presence Engine

   utils service stop Cisco SIP Proxy

   utils service stop Cisco XCP Router

   utils service stop Cisco Sync Agent

   utils service stop Cisco Client Profile Agent

 2- Navigate to Presense>>Settings>>Advanced Configuration, and change the default domain from gcc.local to example.com and click save, note that this process will take few minutes and if it didn’t take the change, you must change it one more time.

3- Start the Services again using the following commands or using IM & Presence Serviceability web interface.

   utils service start Cisco Presence Engine

   utils service start Cisco SIP Proxy

   utils service start Cisco XCP Router

   utils service start Cisco Sync Agent

   utils service start Cisco Client Profile Agent

4- The result is shown in the following pictures. The first picture from IM&P server and the second picture from the CUCM server.
